E. RUTHERFORD, N.J. - April 22, 2005 - Chicago Fire's tight defense
and a goal by Nate Jaqua late in the first half resulted in a single digit
victory
for Chicago Fire. The Metros golden opportunity to equalize failed
with Armado
Guevarra's penaly shot blocked by an alert Zach T.ornton.. The game
saw the
newly aquired French Star Youri Djorkaeff nearly score with a powerful shot
blocked by Thorton.. This was the the 7th victory against the Metros
in the
10 games contested before the home crowd.
The MetroStars will play their first game away from Giants Stadium this season
next weekend when they travel to Denver to take on the Colorado Rapids at
INVESCO Field at Mile High on April 30 at 9 p.m. ET
