
Zürich, 3 January 2000 - A total of well over one thousand media from about 30 countries have been accredited to the first FIFA Club World Championship.
The inaugural eight-team tournament in Brazil has attracted worldwide media interest, especially in the last few weeks.
There has been a sudden rush for accreditation, which did not altogether surprise us, said FIFA Communications Director, Keith Cooper. But unfortunately there is simply no room left for the late-comers, as we have to give our priority to those journalists who met the deadlines in early December.

Apart from Brazil, countries represented include Argentina, Chile, Mexico, USA, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, India, Iran, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia, England, Scotland, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Holland, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Yugoslavia and Slovenia.
