“2 Years to Go” Event

Unveiling of Countdown Board  /  Nornan Kong - JAWOC

To commemorate exactly two years to go until the opening of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea / JapanTM and broaden the appeal to the citizens of Japan, the Japan Organising Committee for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea / Japan (JAWOC) will unveil a countdown board at an event to be held at JR Tokyo Station on June 1. Not only does it count down the days remaining until the opening match, the board also features the official emblem and mascots, the names of the ten host venues in Japan, and the official partners.

Designated as “JAWOC DAY”, an exhibition of informational panels about the ten host venues will also be on display at JR Tokyo Station. Details are as follows:

NB: As the event will be held inside JR Tokyo Station, we ask that photographers and ENG cameramen kindly wear identifying arm bands.
