Sale of tickets for the
2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a Team Specific Ticket (TST)?
The TST gives the chance to buy tickets to see the national team of your choice. In previous FIFA World Cup™ Finals, tickets were only available in Venue Specific Ticket (VST) format.

Are Venue Specific Tickets (VSTs) available for the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ Finals?
Yes. A VST series is suitable for those who wish to visit one place in Korea/Japan and are content to watch whichever teams are drawn to play there.

How many ticket series can I apply for?
You can apply for up to four ticket series, per household.

If I apply today, can I be sure I will get the tickets I want?
All applications for TST series that are received before 30 April 2001 will be entered into a random draw process, which will take place on 15 May 2001. You will receive notification soon after this date; if you have been successful you will receive a confirmation certificate, if you have not been successful you will receive information regarding possible future opportunities to purchase.

What are the ticket face prices?
FIFA announced on 6 June 2000, that Ticket Face Prices will range from USD60 for Category 3 for Group Matches, to USD750 for Category 1 for the Final.

What is the Ticket Series going to cost?
All of the price details are clearly laid out on the Ticket Application Form, but they range from USD198 for 3 first round (TST 3) category 3 tickets, though to USD2,448 for 7 (TST 7) category 1 tickets, one for each of the three First Round matches, Round of 16, Quarter Final, Semi Final and the Final Match.

Where can I find all the ticket price details and application form?

When do I have to pay?
You must complete the Application Form fully, including your preferred payment details. Your payment will be processed immediately after 15 May 2001 only if your application has been successful.

What happens if my team fails to qualify for the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ Finals?
If you chose to apply now and are successful in the application process, but then your team fails to qualify for the 2002 FIFA World Cup™ Finals, you will receive a refund of the amount you paid for your TST series less the non-refundable portion of the 10% TST service fee. The non-refundable portion of the TST service fee is USD18 for Category 3 series, USD30 for Category 2 series and USD45 for Category 1 series.

What happens if my team gets eliminated in the First Round?
When applying for tickets, you have a number of choices to make. If you wish only to watch the team of your choice play, and if and when they are eliminated, you wish to go home, then you should apply for the Conditional Ticket series. If, on the other hand, you wish to stay and watch the tournament later stages, then you should apply for a Fixed Ticket series.

What does this mean?
If you apply for a TST 4, TST 5, TST 6, or TST 7(i.e., First Round plus later stages) on a Conditional Ticket basis, and your team does not progress to all the stages covered by your Conditional TST series, you will be entitled to a refund of the TST price (including the TST service fee**) of those tickets that you purchased for matches in which your team does not participate. A standard USD 10 per Conditional TST Series will be deducted from the refund. Example - if you purchase a Conditional TST 4 series, category 1 for your team, they qualify for the Finals but are eliminated after the three First Round matches, you will receive a refund of USD 238 (USD 225 plus USD23 (10%**) less USD10). If, on the other hand, you apply for a TST 4, TST 5, TST 6, or TST 7 (i.e. First Round plus later stages) on a Fixed Ticket basis, and your team gets eliminated before the Final you will be guaranteed a ticket to see the winner of your teams Group, if your team is eliminated in the First Round, or the winner of your teams later stage match in subsequent rounds.
