22 teams expected to hold World Cup camps in
Japan

TOKYO, Kyodo - The Japanese organizing committee for the 2002 World Cup (JAWOC)
said
Friday it expects a total of 22 teams to hold training camps in Japan ahead
of this summer's finals to be
co-hosted with South Korea.
Reigning world and European champions France and World Cup debutantes Slovenia
are among six teams
grouped in South Korea but scheduled to tune up for the May 31-June 30 finals
in Japan along with all 16
countries based in Japan for first-round matches.
France, who will face Senegal in the World Cup opener in Seoul on May 31,
are to be stationed in Ibusuki,
Kagoshima Prefecture, while Slovenia will be based in Mimasaka, Okayama
Prefecture.
