IBARAKI |
Ibraki prefecture is situated in the northgeastern part of the Kanto area. Ther are many attractive scenic spots intheis prefecture, including Lake Kasumigaura and Mt. Tsukuba in the interior, and a beautiful Pacif coastline stretching 180 km south to north. The porefecture is rich in traditional folk craft products such as silk pongee called Yuuki Tsumugi in Yuuki and the pottery known as Mashiko Yaki. Recently, it's developement has progressed through trthe establishment of Tsukuba Gakuen City, an establihment of many high tech and R & D industry corporate offices.
