Germany v Brazil With seven world titles between this was the first
encounter between the two soccer giants on the world stage. The
scene was set in Yokahama, Japan, for an intriguing final match -
the powerful Germans against the artistry of Brazil.
Germany, playing with out the tenacious Michael Ballack, and Brazil,
with the magical Ronaldinho back in the side were not to disappoint
the billions of fans watching around the world. For Brazil, Ronaldo,
Rivaldo and Ronaldinho worked almost magically together and Edmilson,
Cafu and Lucio won the battles in defense in the air, while Oliver
Neuville,
Bernd Schneider and Dietmar Hamann maintained the German pressure.
However, the game turned on the goalkeeping of Oliver Kahn and
Marcos with Marcos making save after incredible save it was Kahn,
who had only conceded one goal in the previous six matches, who could
not hold a dipping shot from Rivaldo allowing Ronaldo to put the
Brazilians ahead.
